There is a lot to consider when choosing an ordering and inventory process that will work best for your practice. First what is the doctors’ preferences and is there a staff member responsible to make sure that whatever process is established is always followed through on. Who orders and when? Clinic lead? Assistant? Doctor? Is there one person in charge of both the front and back ordering?
Other things to consider in making sure you have a fool proof ordering system is making sure the person responsible has the time set aside to do the job right. Is there proper time away from patient time to effectively place orders and how often are you ordering?
